Welcome to the Autumn edition of the Network B2B newsletter – though with temperatures suddenly jumping back up we’re not sure if Autumn is really here or not.
The kids have headed back to school, which for some working-from-home B2B members will come as a relief that leaves you free to focus on work. For others who have headed back to the office, the period from September onwards is often the busiest time of the year.
Whatever your working situation, Network B2B members continue to benefit from our fabulous groups and communities. We’ve passed 10,000 total attendees this year and are rapidly nearing 5000 referrals passed. That’s 5000 genuine business opportunities passed uniquely through our groups.
As a Network B2B member, you’ll be immersed in a community of likeminded business-driven individuals who are always happy to help. Another benefit is being able to share the spotlight in this newsletter – and this month we’ve got some great news to share from members across the country…

Funding Lifechanging Research

Michelle Connor is a long-term member of the Network B2B Belfast group with her business, Seed Invest Ltd.
Michelle’s ask for the newsletter, however, is all about her daughter – Lydia. She has a rare condition known as Kleefstra syndrome which has no available treatment options. One of just 1000 diagnosed patients in the world, Lydia is a happy, loving, mischievous little girl who must contend with struggles such as physical and intellectual disabilities, organ issues, GI problems and even seizure episodes.
Michelle’s ask to B2B members is to visit their research page, learn more about the condition and share if you can. Their goal is to fund vital research to help support sufferers of Kleefstra syndrome, which is sadly so rare it is overlooked by researchers.
Visit Lydia’s research donations page to learn more and share a donation if possible.

Staying Stroke Aware
Nick from Network B2B Rochdale runs Strokeinformation.co.uk – a charity designed to help those who have suffered strokes. Nick himself recognises this September as the 10 year anniversary since he survived his own stroke.
To cut your risk of stroke, try to have a healthy diet, exercise regularly and not overindulge in alcohol. However, if you or a loved one happens to suffer a stroke, Nick’s advice is to never, ever give up.
His inspirational story is available in a book he penned about his life playing football in venues such as Old Trafford, his stroke, the aftermath and his journey of recovery. The book also explores Nick turning a negative experience into something hugely positive by setting up his charity to help others.

Dragons take to the North East’s most famous river!

Philip Pugh, long-time B2B member and Sales Director of Adept Communications and Technology Ltd, is excited to be hosting a second Dragon Boat race at Newcastle Quayside on October 2nd following 2019’s successful event.
The race sees 11-16 paddlers in dragon boats heading down the Tyne – a fantastic way to build your corporate team’s camaraderie. For freelancers and solo racers, Phil is also putting together boats of solo paddlers who will come together on the day to compete.
With a fantastic atmosphere and a host of other events taking place such as tyre flipping, it’s a must-visit day for all in the North East.
Phil is currently looking for businesses or teams who want to get an entire boat, or solo paddlers who want to enter and challenge themselves
For more information contact Phil on 07737362405 or email phil@adeptcts.co.uk

Make smarter decisions about your finances
I’m a NB2B Newcastle member and love helping my clients make smart decisions about their money. Backed by a truly independent investment proposition, I have a firm belief that financial advice should be available to everyone, wherever you are in your financial journey.
I would advise everyone to make a plan so they can be in control of their future. The plan can change, and sometimes you can’t execute it straight away, but the sooner you understand where it is you need to be, the easier it is to get there. I’ve never had anyone tell me they spoke to me too soon, but if I had a pound for every time someone told me they wish they’d spoken to me sooner, I might even be able to retire early(…bit of an exaggeration actually…might be able to fill a piggy bank though!).
Despite some consistent financial principles, there are many ways to approach financial planning and no two plans are the same. That’s why clients are at the heart of everything I do and getting to know them is probably the best part of my job. If you or anyone you know wishes to take charge of their finances, it starts with a simple chat.
